Looking For A Software To Make Music Videos With?

Good news, there are great options for nearly every level of editing you wish to do.

Some people will want to go with something professional, and that's fine, but prepare to shell out a lot of money for the software and expect a huge learning curve to be able to produce at a top level. It can be done, but there are hours of commitment involved and frankly, it's not a lot of fun.

If you're like most people, you aren't a master video editor, and aren't trying to be. You don't have Final Cut Pro or understand almost anything about opacity, transitions, or effects. But you do have a band, or at worst want to make a video for a band of someone you know, and want it looking as awesome as the professional's stuff.

So what do you do?

Simple, here’s the process: just grab a bunch of cool photos and video clips from your band's latest gig, and grab a track recorded from the latest show if possible. If you don’t have a decent recording of your last show, grab a cut off your latest album, that should be good enough. Put it all into a music video software and bam, there you go, instant music video. That's really all you need to do these days to make an awesome music video. If you have the right software that is...

Wait, how does this work?

Well, the current programs that focus on making music videos are about as user friendly as you can possibly imagine. They do all the hard work for you. You can produce an awesome looking video in about 10 minutes. All you have to do is find the photos and video clips you want to you. Arrange them in any order (if you want to, if not, let the program do it for you). Select the media you want to emphasize, add text cards and captions to keep things moving, and sit back and relax.

From this point, any good music video software will take the pictures and, once you upload your song, will actually interpret the beat and sync the pictures up to match the beats. This will make your videos look like they were actually cut to the music. A must for any music video!
Once you have your song synced up with your video, it's time to export your final product. Simply choose the option you want to export it as. There are many different choices, it all depends on where you plan on showing your music video. If you've uploaded HD footage, export an HD version of you music video. The software makes it look pretty amazing, and keeps the size pretty small. If you do this, be sure to export a standard definition video as well for those without as fast an internet connection. If you want to play your music video on your TV, burn your movie to a DVD. If you want to share it on youtube, facebook, etc., those options are there as well. The possibilities are endless!

There are two types of music video software, ones that can be loaded onto your computer and those that can be accessed over the web. If you have a work station set up at your home or office and really like to be hands on about the process, I recommend going the first route. This software lets you have a more manual control to making your music videos. You can control more about each individual function, but it's also more work to do so.

I, however, prefer to use the web based version. It doesn't slow your computer down at all when you render, and it's always being updated with the newest transitions and effects. The project is accessible from anywhere with an internet connection. It really makes things great for sharing your projects.

So what is the best software for making music videos? In my opinion there are two that blow everything else out of the water. I talk about them more on my site. Be sure to check out examples of movies made with each one of the programs, too, and comment on which ones you like more.
